Since 2004, our founder, Devon Underwood, had been in charge of the talent acquisition strategy for various companies. As an HR insider, Devon knew that the way things were done had grown stale. Executive recruiters did things the same way they had been doing them for well over two decades, despite transformative changes in the industry. Devon perceived multiple problems:

It was time to shake things up. In 2013, Devon founded the Talent Store with the vision of changing how recruitment works. The Talent Store focuses on developing a deep, authentic understanding of both the client company and each candidate, taking the approach of a matchmaking service that strives for long-term harmony. This reimagined talent acquisition strategy places genuine human connections at the forefront and prioritizes wholly customizable solutions for clients. Today, the Talent Store is known for the personalized service we provide, and for delivering impactful matches that engender true success.

She is an expert in analyzing current practices and shaping systems and solutions customized for each company’s culture, processes, and resource capacity.

With an understanding of the technology and best practices available to help growing companies scale successfully, she can develop and implement custom talent attraction, acquisition, and retention strategies. Her favorite way to have impact is through placing the right Leaders in key positions, often for newly developed, shifting, or re-aligned roles with a focus on long term matching of, culture, style, and values.
